One of the most important
ways I share my own sense of the sacred is to offer spiritual direction to those who wish to deepen their inner life and connection
with the holy.
In a quiet and
peaceful setting the directee is able to explore the stirrings under the surface of daily events. He or
she is encouraged to explore aspects of life too often left unspoken: the doubts, the spiritual yearnings,
the underlying currents of divinity that flow through our ordinary experiences.
I have extensive experience in interfaith settings and welcome directees
of all religious backgrounds, including clergy, as well as those who see themselves as “spiritual but not religious.”
I am wholeheartedly
open and affirming of gay, lesbian, bi, and transgender persons.
I served on the faculty
of the Hesychia School for Spiritual Direction for many years. In addition, I am a Supervisor of Spiritual Directors (I received
my training at the Mercy Center in Burlingame, California) and am currently accepting directors who want to strengthen their
practice through supervision.
I
received ordination as a Rabbi at Hebrew Union College and serve as the spiritual leader of Congregation M'kor Hayim in Tucson.
